I am a researcher, teacher and mentor with over a decade of experience in tackling complex problems, supporting others in tackling complex problems, and enthusiastically sharing what I learn with many different audiences.
I find value in people, ideas, and in research. I bring kindness, integrity, and a playful spirit into my work, whether it's with plants or brains or music or family. I want to stay curious and excited about the world around me and work with other curious, kind, and interesting people.
I believe that understanding cognition and communication from a variety of perspectives is key to expanding access to technology, education, healthcare, and more. I am currently a senior UX Researcher at Instagram working with the Ads Experience teams. Prior to joining Meta, I spent nearly 10 years as a tenured professor and graduate program coordinator for the speech-language pathology program at Portland State University where I researched how cognition and communication change after brain injury.
When I'm not writing an article or taking apart a dataset, I enjoy plants, playing with my family, and a variety of hobbies.
